The Department of Cosmetic Surgery treats patients of all ages.
The treatments can be classified into four categories - Facial, Body, Skin, Hand and Reconstructive surgery. Facial treatments include correction of protruding ears, blepharoplasty (for drooping eye lids), rhinoplasty (nose surgery), cheek and chin augmentation, neck and face lifts, and liposuction (removal of fat deposits) from the neck. Treatments for hirsutism (excessive facial and body hair growth) and chloasma (excessive facial pigmentation) are also available. Body treatments cover hair transplants, breast reduction and augmentation, liposuction of the abdomen, thighs and legs, as well as the removal of scars and tattoos. The consultants also treat skin cancers. A recent introduction is the Cellulolipolyse treatment - a form of electrotherapy for cellulite removal. A complete range of aesthetic skin treatments is offered by our Department of Dermatology. These include the permanent removal of red and brown spots, freckles, warts, tattoos and all other types of pigmented skin lesions with the Pulsed-dye, Q-Switched Nd:YAG, and Carbon dioxide Lasers. For more information, please refer to the Dermatology section. Hand and Reconstructive surgery is a very active part of the programme. All problems of the hand and forearm are dealt with. These include congenital abnormalities, hand and tendon reconstruction, synovectomy for the repair of rheumatic joints and hand retraction surgery. The consultants perform surgery on patients who have been injured - burns, scars and facial deformities, and reconstructive surgery on post-cancer sufferers such as breast reconstruction. In addition, all congenital malformations such as cleft lip and cleft palate are treated. All treatments are of a high international standard and employ the use of modern techniques and equipment. |
