Dr. Faheem Tadros

Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist and Facial Aesthetic Surgeon
Dr. Tadros has been a Consultant in his field since 1982. He was first recruited from his post as the Clinical Tutor to Leeds University in England to join our staff.
He has trained in many of the leading centers in the UK and the USA including the Royal National Ear Nose and Throat and Guy's Hospitals in London, the Royal Victoria Infirmary, the teaching hospital to Newcastle University and St. James Teaching Hospital in Leeds.
His post-graduate training took him to the USA where he spent a year in the Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York.
Since joining Al Zahra in 1982, Dr. Tadros has been responsible for the development of the ENT Department. Some of his significant contributions include the introduction of Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) to the UAE in 1988, the introduction of Laser-assisted Uvulopalatoplasty for the treatment of snoring, and the introduction of Otoacoustic emission and neonatal hearing screening, a first in the country, in 1994.
With his interest in aesthetic surgery, Dr. Tadros started the Facial Aesthetic Surgery Department at Al Zahra in 1983. He has performed more than 800 cases of rhinoplasty and presented a paper on "Rhinoplasty in the Arabian Gulf" at the World Congress of Otorhinolaryngology in 1993.
Furthermore, in affiliation with the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, and particularly Dr. Derald Brackmann, he started the first Cochlear Implant program in the private sector in UAE. Similarly, his working association with Dr. O. Shaheen of Guy's Hospital, London, has ensured that the department is well covered for tertiary care when it comes to head and neck cancer surgery - one of Dr. Shaheen's main contributions to otorhinolaryngology worldwide.
Dr. Tadros has attended many international conferences and continues to push himself and the department to the front line of the field.
