Dr. Istrabadi graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland in 1987 with an honors degree and continued as a full time lecturer and Research Fellow in anatomy towards his MS degree in 1989. He then trained in General Surgery at some of the best teaching hospitals in Ireland (Beaumont, Mater, St. James) and obtained his FRCS in 1992.

On relocating to the United States, Dr. Istrabadi initially worked in General Surgery in Baltimore, Maryland. He then completed 5 years of Urology training at Albany Medical College, Albany, New York - one of the best Urology training centers in the US, and obtained the American Board of Urology. He has published numerous papers on topics related to his field.

Dr. Istrabadi has a particular interest in Uro-oncology, Female Urology, Laparoscopic Surgery, Laser Surgery, Endoscopy, Male Infertility and Impotence, Paediatric Urology, Stone disease and Laser Lithotripsy.
