Al Zahra Hospital offers the services of two visiting neurosurgeons, and is fully equipped to handle all kinds of neurosurgical procedures. These include Burr hole surgery, shunt insertions, skull base and vascular surgery, and surgery for tumours and trauma.

In addition, cranio-vertebral junction problems, entrapment syndromes, nerve injuries and spinal disorders are also dealt with. The hospital pioneered the introduction of microdiscectomy in the private sector.

Of the two visiting neurosurgeons, one is UAE-based and the hospital has special arrangements for him to be available also for neurosurgical emergencies.
