Dr. Khan has been in the UAE since 1977. After a successful tenure as Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the premier government hospital in Sharjah, he joined Al Zahra in 1987.

Over this period, he has become a household name and has endeared himself to a vast clientele extending all over the GCC region. Dr. Khan's colossal experience is evidenced by the fact that during his stay in the Emirates alone, he has performed over 15,000 major operations for various eye diseases.

Always keen to present the latest innovations in his field, Dr. Khan pioneered the introduction in UAE of intraocular lens implants in adults (1980) and children (1983), corneal grafts in children (1983), radial keratotomy (1987), and Excimer laser refractive surgery for the correction of nearsightedness (1993) and farsightedness (1995).
