Dr. Khalid Rajabu Mbaya

Designation:Consultant Emergency medicine & Head of Department

Dr. Mbaya graduated his MD program from the Istanbul University in Turkey (2006); he then joined a postgraduate program in Emergency Medicine in South Africa. He completed his residence training from Stellenbosch University (2012).

Dr. Mbaya was awarded the Master of Medicine (MMED) in Emergency medicine and Fellowship of College of Emergency Medicine (FCEM) by the college of medicine of South Africa, and completed a Fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine (FICM) offered by Apollo Medvarsity, India (2015).

Dr. Mbaya worked at Muhimbili National Hospital in Tanzania in the Emergency Medicine Department at different levels (2008 – 2016), after which he worked as Specialist Intensivist at The Agakhan Hospital (2016).

Dr. Mbaya has the special interest in EMS, Critical Care and Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Mbaya is an active member of the American College of Emergency Physician (ACEP), African Federation of Emergency Physicians (AFEM) and Emergency Medicine Association of Tanzania (EMAT), and the Emirate Society of Emergency Medicine (ESEM).
